Because the bear die is solid, I first die cut him from vellum bristol paper. I placed a piece of scratch paper in my MISTI, & stamped the bear on that. I used the negative space of the die cut to line up around the stamped image. I then placed the die cut in the opening, & stamped him on that. I also stamped the hat & candy cane, & then die cut them.
I colored the bear, hat, & candy cane with my colored pencils. To get a furry look on the pompom & brim of the hat, I added embossing ink with my Versamarker pen, & heat embossed with a white puff powder. It still didn't look right, so I tried a second coat of ink & powder, & that did the trick. I also went over the bear's eyes & nose with a black glaze pen to make them pop.
I cut some papers from my scrap stash that went with the color scheme in Dina's Falliday challenge. I die cut an oval from red cardstock to go behind the bear. I adhered all my patterned papers & then glued the oval in place.
I stamped the greeting onto a strip I'd cut from a scrap of the flip side of the red/gold holly patterned paper I'd used. I added 2 scraps of cardstock behind the part that hung off the oval so it would lay flat off the edge of the oval, then glued it in place.
