Welcome to this week's watercolor challenge. Kia gave us a fun video with painting very loose characters for Christmas cards. Loose water coloring is not my forte. I watched the video and painted the first character which was to a be a gnome. I kept looking at it and laughing...it's a clown. Now I'm a fan of those fat little bearded guys so I decided to do one like I usually paint. Sketched the little guy and painted him. Hand penned the sentiment. I did learn from the video how to keep things in proportion. She did it so well with the loose technique. Thanks for sharing my experience and would love to have you join us with your version. I'm still laughing at my clown.

I didn't see him as a clown but, I am smiling along with you. I love the plaid you gave the second guys hat a lot and the long tall shapes of these too Linda

Linda, you gave me a chuckle about the clown. I think your gnomes are great and they have wonderful beards. I love the plaid hat and that you gave him clothes.

They are so cute, I wouldn't be able to say which one is my favorite, I love the pretty colors on the right one, but I love the face on the other, so make a third one using a bit from both...(just kidding)

Oh girlfriend - I'm with you in that I was laughing hysterically all through my painting process today. Loose is not my friend, so we'll leave the one on the left alone . . . . Your signature style worked well for your and all the tiny details really (stitching - plaid - highlights) makes this a showstopper!

The "clown" reference brought a snicker. He's fun and the other fellow is fantastic, too. Your sketching, painting, and abilities are astounding...

Love your changes and that you did two. Fun hat on the right and love the sweet face on the left. Such fun personalities. Super well done. Hugz

It was hard for me to put eyes and a mouth on mine, when most that you see don't have eyes nor mouths. Both are Cute, but boy do I ever love the one on the right, Linda! You got extra fancy with his hat and added pants, and I just love that.
