I enjoyed making this card, but it took a scary turn this morning. I decided to finally ink up this adorable hedgehog to go inside my glass ornament. I really enjoyed watching Sandy's video. I could watch her make cards all day long. Watercoloring the ornament and background went pretty well. I did get some muddy color and my bokeh is a little wonky. Most of all my ornament is not perfectly round because she said that I should work fast so it would be wet enough to lift the color for the bokeh. So I rushed that background quite a bit. I was too lazy to watercolor the greenery at the top. Plus, I have this beautiful Winter Bouquet stamp set from Rubbernecker that deserved some love today. So I stamped all that greenery and then I added white enamel accents for berries. That's when I almost died. The white berries ran together to form big old blobs. I had to just walk away and let them dry in the hopes that I could peel them off and save my card. Tonight, I peeled off the white berries and punched and burnished some little red berries. Phew! A little too symmetrical for my taste, but I'm pretty happy with the result of this "cute little Christmas" card.

Jen, you made my night. I am so tired from cooking today and then I read your post and went to your blog to see those big old blobs as you called them. I had quite a chuckle over all this so now I feel better. But, you ended up with the cutest card. Your ornament and image are super. Plus, I do like your RED berries and greenery. I'm still laughing.

This is one outstanding card with Sandy's technique. You truly made it look like glass. Your greenery is beautiful along with the bokeh background. Glad you were able to rescue the berries. Thanks for adding this card in the gallery.

Great job of watercoloring your ornament. I am empathetic about the white enamel berries - my Nuvo drop application always ends up looking just like that, so I've pretty much given up on them . . . I DO like the bright red berries They pick the tiny bit of red in your hedgie's hat.
