I used to work at a clothing store in the 90's that specialized in sweaters and boy, did we have the Christmas sweaters. By today's standards, I think some of them would be considered ugly, as they had a lot of pattern and color. They were sure popular. One of my favorite sweaters I ever bought there is a denim sweater, which I still own. It's acid washed yarn and some denim trims, zip up the front. I loved it because I could add things to it (scarves, pins etc.) to make it fit any outfit.
The body of this sweater is a burlap Christmas tag that I die cut. I diecut the arms of the sweater from an old denim shirt of mine and cut some of the shirt for trims and a collar. Added some fun buttons and a little yarn at the top for a turtleneck or scarf. My sweater even has a denim chest pocket, which my sweater has too.
This is also for Kim's VSN-DENIM! I think I accomplished that. Thanks for the challenges, Lisa and Kim! BTW, the card base is one layer so I hope this qualifies for CAS.
As an aside, I'd urge everyone to watch the PBS American Experience series about denim and jeans. It's eye opening.
