For MariLynn's MIX challenge: MIX511 contentment (11-11-22) by MariLynn at Splitcoaststampers
(and I guess I've finally managed to catch up with Ky's too.
I agree with what Anita said about being hard to choose a set. Especially when most orders are international shipping, there aren't a lot of impulse buys. I decided to pull out an old SU wreath set, I don't think I've used this leafy stamp from it before, I usually use the twiggy one. I stamped it 6 times in the circle to create my wreath, in sepia. Coloured with Polychromos. Originally I cut it with two circle dies, but then decided to freehand it more loosely.
The background - it needed something not too strong. I picked a nice brusho and stencil background out, but by the time I stamped a script stamp on it and then added gesso to tone it down, and then overlaid it with the embossed vellum and highlighted the embossing on that with white acrylic and Inka gold, unfortunately the original background is totally lost. I popped the wreath up on foam and added glossy accents to the acorns. It appears I have not one single Happy Thanksgiving stamp, nor even Thankful in a script, which I was sure I did. Rushed for time, so rather than computer generate something I just used this sentiment from ODBD's Autumn Blessings.

Lovely wreath on your pretty embossed bg, I like the acorns they look like real ones, me too I think first about buying something, but my sister gives me a lot of stamps she buys on the market in Holland, I don't use them all, but it wasn't me who bought them
