This card is for a family who lost their home to a fire, and is a Teapot Tuesday mission. They are a Gold Star Family (meaning they lost their son Tyler in Iraq). I used Recollections paper for the background, the 'fireworks' are actually flowers - a die gift from my late friend Theresa Tauscher, the banner is from Crafters Companion, the matching gems inside the firewords is from Say It In Gems, and the Mickey Mouse from an older die.

Well, this should definitely put a smile on their faces. What a great, happy, celebratory feel. Love your Mickey die and super clever to use that flower die for fireworks. I thought they were fireworks til I read your write-up. Fantastic card.

I love fireworks and this is so clever using the perfect flower die to replicate them! Great patriotic card, and I love the little red, white and blue banner in the corner!

Ha, I've used a flower die for fireworks too. I can imagine Mickey is a lot of work to piece together but well worth it, he's very cute. I love that dinky little banner.
