This week the Teapotters are sending loving thoughts of comfort and healing to Julie whose three week old son died from a severe birth defect. Such a sad time for this family. My card was inspired by this beauty from Suen with its soft bokeh bg and hanging snowflakes: FS821 Snowflake Season by suen at Splitcoaststampers
Like Sue, I ink blended cs and then used white ink and a stencil for the bokeh. I used glitter paper for the die cuts because I wanted everything to shine for Julie. The sentiment is just one phrase from a big bg stamp that I cut so it would be highlighted. As usual, I wish I had placed the bigger die cuts a bit lower. I thought they looked great until I glued them down. LOL. Oh well, the smaller stars help to fill in the space.
I also thought about some lyrics from a Toby Keith/Sting duet. It's a song about divorce but these verses always make me think about coping with grief in general:
"I took a walk alone last night
I looked up at the stars
To try and find an answer in my life.
I chose a star for me
I chose a star for him
I chose two stars for my kids and one star for my wife.
Something made me smile
Something seemed to ease the pain
Something about the universe and how it's all
connected."
I hope Julie and her family can find some light to help ease their pain. I hope, in some way, that our cards of support might help. And, tonight, when I see the stars, I will be reminded of that light too. TFL

Oh Debbie I think Julie will remember this dazzling card of comfort when she next looks up at the stars. This beautiful design definitely comes from your heart!

Gorgeous! Love the combo of heart and stars. Unexpected and beautiful. Especially love the silver. The bokeh BG in blues is perfect for the design.

This is just beautiful Debbie and I think you have placed everything just right, actually. Does not look off at all. Your card is so uplifting too. Love, love the bokeh effect and your theme of heart and stars is perfect!
