This is my card for CC918. Karen is our hostess, and she chose crushed curry, orchid oasis and old olive for her color trio. Dessert option this week is a creative way to use ribbon.
I was stuck with an idea for these colors then I remembered this orchid oasis background from the May 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit.
The crushed curry was perfect for a sunflower so I used the sunflower dies from Stampin' Up. Cut both layers in crushed curry and for the top layer I sponged with distress inks for a bit of color variation.
I don't have the orchid oasis ink pad so I subbed ballet blue ink to stamp my sentiment. I only had that color in a marker but it worked out fine.
I used the celebrate sunflowers stamp set to stamp my leaves. They are olive on olive. Added a couple of hearts cut from orchid oasis glimmer paper and a few enamel dots to finish off my card.

By the sound of it I stumped more than one person with these colors which I thought were so Halloweeny.....but you came up with a beautiful sunflower card and I love it!!! I always say Orchid Oasis reminds me of our old Ballet Blue which I have missed for all these years! Beautiful card Mary!

What a bright and cheerful card! I don't still have the Ballet Blue Pad but have packed and moved a hoarded package of the card stock too many times to count. I loved that color and it is the perfect sub - as is obvious on your special card.

Mary you impress me with your memory, the paper pumpkin background is perfect for this week's challenge! I love the bold colorful sunflower, it's one of my favorites due to it being Kansas' state flower! Love your design! TFS

I love your big, beautiful sunflower, Mary! (Great minds think alike!) Also this DS paper you used, a perfect backdrop. I'm amazed how perfectly the Ballet Blue color matches! And I love the greeting, too!
