This was a fun technique, even though it was one that required a lot of patience. I let it dry for two hours, and then blasted with my heat gun to be safe. I was pretty sure it was going to be a disaster when I first dropped on the salt, but it turned out great.
I needed a sympathy card for my old classmate who just lost her mother (who was also my 8th grade history teacher and my motherâs classmate), so I chose a pretty floral stamp that a friend gave me recently. I donât know the company. I stamped it with Versafine Clair on my Agave watercolor paper and did the watercolor wash in light blue. Then I dropped the colored salts where I wanted the color on the flowers and leaves. I like the results, but also decided to add a bit of coloring to the flowers and leaves with Spectrum Aqua markers. Then I also added Wink of Stella for some shimmer. I have a problem with my bright, cheery colors. I canât help myself even when Iâm making a sympathy card. I like to think my friend wonât mind the colorful card.

Very clever idea to stamp the flowers and salt where needed! This does require patience and you definitely have to trust the process because it looks like a mess before it looks this beautiful! Great card - I also think a sympathy card with colors may help add a bright spot in a very sad time.

Perfect sympathy card, Jen. The background is fab and goes so well with your pretty flowers! Hugz
Sorry for the loss too. So hard.
