This week's Featured Stamper, Renata Joyner, makes these fabulous, fun bgs with all kinds of graphics and designs that you really should check out. But, I went with one of her CAS designs instead: Love by Renata Joyner at Splitcoaststampers
I loved the look of the stamping inside the heart stencil she made. I needed some birthday cards so I changed my shape to a balloon and used different floral images. I used her colors but added in a blue. I changed the sentiment to "Celebrate" which was computer generated using Snowflake font.
I wanted to see if I could make a boy version of this card. I couldn't think of any stamps I owned that I thought would work but remembered this fun arrow die from Cat's Pajamas (sadly, I think this is discontinued). I decided to use die cuts in primary colors so I traced the balloon onto white cs, cut it out and pasted the die cuts around the surface. Tied off the balloon with some red floss and added that fun die cut speech bubble and BAM!. Wanted more color on this for the boys so I die cut the white panel and layered it with the two colors. I think I like the idea of this card better than the actual card. For some reason, the balloon gets lost on the white. If I were to do this again, I would figure out a way to outline the balloon or maybe just layer it so the outline would be more apparent.
Congratulations Renata on being selected this week's Featured Stamper. I enjoyed looking at all your cards, but especially your fun and colorful bgs. I hope you enjoy the cards you have inspired this week. And, I hope everyone finds their favorite shape. My personal favorite (for me, not for cards) is "blob". LOL. TFL

Good grief, that floral balloon is stunningly eye-catching! I love the CAS aspect (of course). I couldn't have done it better myself, lol ; -) Thanks so much!

What a fun pair of birthday cards! I like that you did one with stamping and the other with die cutting and I think they both look great. I don't think the balloon shape is lost at all. Very fun and celebratory, perfect for birthday cards!

Debbie, you did amazing work with your inspiration! Your floral is delightful and POPS off the page. I love this concept. I also love the concept of the die cuts. Two very fun and creative designs.
