LIST: Colours (russet, gold, blue, red, white) Techniques (gel press), Elements (floral outlines on layered background, gold sentiment)
INCLUDE: Colours, gel press, gold sentiment
MODIFY: wheat instead of florals, die cut sentiment instead of sticker, wider white frame
EXCLUDE: nothing!
This layered up mixed-media look is a little out of my comfort zone, but I love the layered up look of Renata's gel-press background. And I love the colour. Russet. I love even saying it! lol!
I put down a layer of soft yellow paint, then I added some selective stencilling with red and blue paint.
I laid some wheat die cuts onto the plate to act as masks.
I don't have russet paint, so I created mine with some oranges and purple, right over the masks. I removed the masks before pulling the final print.

Wow, Ardyth, your russet (I love saying it too) is fab, I love your techniques, and your extra details are wonderful. Love both versions of this. Well done and very cool.
I actually thought of you when I first went through Renata's gallery - I said, "Ardyth will especially love Renata's gallery." I love how she inspired you. Hugz

Ardyth, I thought the same thing Nancy thought. Renata's gallery had lots of colorful stenciling inspiration. This is a great case. I love that you made your own russet color and your use of stencils.

what a gorgeous inspired gel print Ardyth! I have so much trouble when I try to pull prints! This is beautiful - sort of looks like a painting on a wall on an archeological dig!

Well you stepped out of your "comfort zone" into "you should do this more often" zone. I love that you made your own russet ink and I love saying russet too. LOL. Your colors and stenciling are fabulous and those wheat stems are great...now Renata and I both have wheat envy. Great card.
