Deep brown side fold card with a layer of handmade paper with gold flecks. I added a pocket with the same brown and a layer of the same gold fleck paper. I then stamped my headline on white which was a bit difficult because it was all individual letters from an alphabet stamp set to get the words I wanted. I think I ended up with my words pretty straight. I tucked in the pocket 2 playing cards for his age cards. His brother got such a kick out of his playing card theme card, I figured I'd do another for his brother. (They're 900 miles apart) I cut the stamped banner with a matching layer in black. I added gold brad to each end of the banner. I wanted the headline to match the cards.

This is such a fun idea with the playing cards for a masculine card. Love the brown/gold paper. Super job on lining up the letters. I love the idea of alpha stamps, but find them more than challenging to get them spaced and aligned the way I like. Great card and I'm sure Louis will adore it from 900 miles away. Hugs.

Great paper you made for a masculine card, neat idea with the folds/pockets. Fun idea for the sentiment, my brother likes to play cards with his guy friends too!

A super card for a masculine birthday, Betty. I like the idea of the pocket. You really got the letters straight...good work! I'm admiring that handmade paper again.

Betty, this is really a clever and creative idea for a card for your son. The handmade paper gives the look of brown leather which is so apropos for a masculine card.
