Ways to Use It challenge - WT915 - Down on the Farm - September 22, 2022
I wasn't able to make cards all week, and I missed it. I am thankful for a quiet Saturday to get crafty.
I have a die set of small, solid farm animal images and really wanted to try a design shown in this video by Jennifer McGuire on using small die cuts:
She used small dog dies, and I used farm animal dies. She used white backgrounds, and I used a black background.
For my card, I cut the shapes with many passes through my die cutting machine to get an assortment of the farm animals in various colors of the patterned paper. The shapes include: horse, cow, pig, rooster, hen, and goose. The gingham colors include: red, orange, blue, green, and purple.
I die cut the word Hi in white and glued this down first against the black background. Then I positioned all of the shapes around it, and followed the suggestion in the video to have some of the shapes extend beyond the edge of the background and then cut off the excess, to show a more completed look. The horse is my favorite, so I placed the orange horse under the Hi first, and then continued from there.
