Be true to yourself, right? My favorite season is any one of the four that has thunderstorms at night.
I grew up with a mother who was afraid, and didn't want me to be as well, so whenever there was a storm, she would get me up to watch it. She was that kind of mom. I guess this card, in a way, is a tribute to her.
Many is the time I would wake up as a mother myself, to find all three of my kids on the porch watching, and oohing and aahing over the lightning and thunder. We all love storms!
Life is good.

What a great card and post. What a wonderful mother to get you up when thunderstorms were happening, especially since she was afraid of them. I can take a storm but not if it gets too bad, you know, like a tornado which I have dealt with many times.

I love thunderstorms too, especially when they come in across the lake. What a great mom you had to do that mdf. LOVE your card today. What a great sentiment too.

Such a striking (oops - pun not intended!) card! I love your story about your mom; that took a lot of guts to put aside her own fears to prevent you from sharing them!

It's terrible to be afraid of storms my aunt was so afraid that when she was alone at home she was hiding under the dining table under the tablecloth... Your card is spectacular and illustrates your memory so well!!
What a great way to honor your mom, Anne! I love hearing about your family! One of my favorite stamp quotes by kids is, "If you're feeling blue, just paint yourself a different color"! They truly have it figured out!
Oh, my goodness! My grandmother was scared silly of storms so she would sit with us on the balcony and watch the Kansas storms roll by. I always loved storms. I will admit I am a little bit afraid of lightning storms now because I was once on the beach when lightning hit. Still I love the rain and I have very fond memories of the excitement of watching the storms with my grandmother! Your card is wonderful and a great take on the theme!

Awesome card, Anne! Lightning is fascinating especially seeing those bolts from great distances. It is amazing how it lights and brightens the edges of the cloud formations.

LUV this card, Anne! My mom was also terrified of thunderstorms, but my dad made sure we grew up enjoying them. So I totally feel the same about storms as you. FAVED

Awesome card. And such a wise sentiment from a young person... Great post on how you came to love thunderstorms. I was terrified as a child but love them now - although prefer to not be in a tent!! lol
