Clean and Simple Challenge - CAS707 - Back to School - September 12, 2022
I already made two Back to School cards last month for my two nephews, which are showing in my gallery dated 8/15 and 8/12, using that week's Sketch challenge. For this challenge, I decided to follow in Shoe Girl's footsteps and make a graduation card instead. You can see her awesome card here:
For my card, I started with a light teal piece of cardstock and stamped a bookshelf background with a slightly darker teal shade. Then I layered this onto a piece of white cardstock that I had edged with the same green marker to be used for the bookworms.
Next, I stamped the open book and then positioned the two bookworm stamps right on the book pages. I stamped these and then colored them. I also stamped the sentiment in the same darker teal shade as used on the background.
Finally, I fussy cut all the way around the open book and glued this onto the teal background. I like the way the graduation bookworm is on the left, as if that part is finished, and the new page on the right shows the bookworm with bow tie, ready to start his new chapter.
I did not have anyone in mind when making this card, but it would be fun to use the school colors of the recipient if these are known ahead of time.

Oh my gosh I am honored my card inspired your card. I love the book background and the image is super cute too. I love the nextw chapter sentiment. That is fantastic and would be great for so many different occasions.
