My project started out on an envelope someone gave me that had a scene on the back. It was a bird and some flowers. I applied a thin coat of gesso to tone down the colors so it wouldn't detract from the rest of the items I wanted to include on this.I glued a piece of muslin to some cardstock and then added some fabric and sewed around that and free formed the head, neck, and hair on my machine. Next came some old trim from my stash (it's from the 60s) and some cool buttons (also circa the 60s), washi tape, lace, and a paper doll die cut strip. The postage stamp was one I saved from a Teapot Tickle...it came from Helen. You never know when you're going to use some of these little bits and pieces...I actually started out with a different idea for my envelope but I really wanted to do some sewing on this. Perhaps I'll revisit my first idea sometime soon.
