I had a baby shower to attend to welcome the upcoming birth of a dear friend's great granddaughter! The baby room is decorated with a Winnie the Pooh theme, so I wanted to use that as my card theme. I've always loved the Winnie the Pooh quote "Sometimes the littlest things take up the most room in your heart!" I really wanted to use it in some way with my card. I searched online for some free images and downloads, and I came up with this doodled image of this quote and decided to use it as the card front focal point.
I printed the image and quote, colored it with Copic markers and sponge-colored the background with Pool Party ink. I found a Spellbinders die to frame the quote & image, some pretty variegated sheer ribbon and rich golden dot paper. Putting it all together, I came up with a cute and quick card!
Last, I composed an inside verse, printed it, distressed the edges, punched decorative corners and added some sparkly gems to this corner punch area that I color-shaded using Copic markers.
Searching for possible SCS challenges to fit my Winnie card theme, I found 15 that influence my design. They are listed below:
1) F4A653 - Free 4 All Challenge/ Frame It! - 8/26/22. Challenge: put some kind of frame on your card. I added an ornate die-cut frame plus a doodled frame around my Winnie the Pooh focal quote.
2) WORD0822 - Fan Club Monthly Themes--August 2022/ Lavender & Old Lace! - 8/1/22. Challenge: Go back in time to touch on classic, vintage, shabby chic styles or be literal and do lavender and lace. With this card for the WORD Challenge, I'm going vintage and classic. The first children's Winnie the Pooh book was published in 1926...pretty vintage and pretty classic! My first letter word elements for PAST are: P=patterned paper, Pool Party ink; A=adhesive, animal, artichoke green; S=sponging, sheer ribbon, Spellbinders die; T=two-tone ribbon.
3) AOCC22 - All Occasions Card Challenge/ August 2022 - 8/1/22. An ongoing/monthly challenge that encourages you to set goals ahead for each month to help you complete and mail your cards more timely! This is a much card for an August baby shower.
4) USEIT2022 - Use It Challenge/ August 2022 - 8/1/22. An ongoing/ annual challenge that requires you to use OLD/ DUSTY and long unused items and/or OLD/NEW items purchased, never used, and seemingly forgotten! OLD item(s): Spellbinder die: Fleur de Lis Rectangles (last used: 2014); Ribbon scrap. OLD/NEW 1st Use: MFT-Dots & Stripes Sorbet 6x6 Paper pack (purchase 8/2017).
5) MIX481 - Mix-ability Challenge/ Yellow - 4/15/22. Challenge: add yellow to your card. I've added a dsp with its background in yellow with yellow dots of a different yellow shade! Mediums: dye-based ink (sponging); Copic markers; ribbon fabric.
6) CAS682 - Clean & Simple Challenge/ Yellow - 3/21/22. Challenge: make your card with yellow as your main color. What's better than a yellow background with yellow polka dots!
7) MMTPT711 - Teapot Challenge/ Pick Your Square - 3/8/22. Challenge: Let's play Tic-Tac-Toe. Choose a row (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) and add those elements to your card. I picked the bottom row: Dimensionals, Green, and Ribbon. My card is popped with dimensionals, a green cardbase & frame, plus a ribbon band & bow. As I'm late to the party, my card will be used for a baby shower.
WT873 - Ways to Use It Challenge/ Using It Up - 12/2/21. Challenge: Use up something that needs to be used up, e.g. die-cut a friend sent, a leftover stamped image, ribbon, etc. I've used a ribbon that had been cut off the spool and then not used.
9) IC798 - Inspiration Challenge/ Penguin Random House - 3/20/21. Challenge: Browse website and find inspiration...theme, color, shape, subject, etc. This book was a great help in re-acquainting me with the Winnie the Pooh characters that I had chosen for my card theme: Winnie the Pooh Ultimate Sticker Book!
10) CC814 - Color Challenge/ Aunt Bee and Uncle Peacock Met Under the Spruce! - 10/20/20. Challenge: use BumbleBee, Pretty Peacock, and Shaded Spruce or similar. Dessert: punch or die. I've used BumbleBee, Pool Party, and Garden Green for my colors and used a die-cut frame.
11) FS708 - Featured Stamper Challenge/ Mary is Not Contrary (aka Mary Bush...Mary EB) - 8/30/20. I found this card of Mary's which inspired my design layout for my card. Layering Love with Perennial Birthday! Also during my browsing, I saw this card of Mary's: Flowers for Every Season. . ., which helped solidify my color choice.
12) ABC12Q23 - Alphabet Challenge/ Letter Q - 2/26/20. My letter Q is for the Winnie the Pooh QUOTE featured as the focal point of my card. This finishes all of Round 12...YAY!!!
13) S2S19X - Stamp 2 Save (aka Stamp 2 Support One Another) Challenge/ Put a Frame on Summer - 6/20/19. A monthly challenge originally to make cards to earn credit to purchase more stamping products, but evolved into a place to fulfill the monthly challenge, make friends, and support one another. Challenge: choose summer colors and include a frame using stamps or dies. I chose summer colors of yellow and green, much seen in summer flower gardens and added a die-cut frame and doodled frame for my sentiment quote focal piece.

The perfect Welcome Baby card. I love Pooh too and all his quotes and this one is perfect for this occasion. Love the bright fun colors (polka dots always = fun in my book) and that Spellbinders frame is gorgeous. Fabulous card.
