For a kit, I used both gelatos and watercolor pencils, which both come in kits. For the MMJ challenge, I used the prompts: cardboard, washi tape, gesso, fruit, and handwriting and doodling for the technique.
The blue background is made by scribbling on gelatos and then brushing gesso over them. The gesso picks up the color and spreads it as you brush, also softening it to a lighter shade. I drew the small leaf, because the other was a bit overpowering to the size of the pear. All the images are fussy cut.

Melody, I LOVE this technique you use with the corrugated, torn cardboard. It is such a wonderful look and perfect for those boldly colored pears! Doodling is a perfect finished touch and soften the bold effect so nicely!
