It took me awhile to come up with what I wanted to do. I played around with some techniques yesterday for the CC colors Jeanne provided us. Because there is a lot of blue in orchid oasis, this was sort of like a primary color challenge and I think I like the color a lot, better than a pink/purple. The background is the wrinkle free distress, although is it that if you don't use Distress inks that will blend (I used reinkers)? Sometimes, if I feel a little stumped, I'll go to Pinterest, type in some colors and see what I get. Nothing jumped out at me particularly, but I started to think about orchid oasis and orchids. I have this lovely CS set that features an orchid so Bobs your uncle!! I used mini daubers to add the pink and orchid to the stamp, a little spritz of water and then two green markers that I thought were close to mossy meadow for the stem.
When I saw today's sketch, I knew that the orchid stamp would work. I used the die on the background instead of the image and popped it up. The cross pieces were cut from the baby wipe swipe on glossy that I did yesterday too. I think the colors are summery and we do have orchids growing in Wisconsin.
Finally, this is for Shelly's sister in law Diane. I continued with the Kintsugi theme, using the stamp that looks like broken glass. That is what Kintsugi is all about: taking something broken, fixing it and it becomes more beautiful. I wish Diane some tiny victories, if possible....maybe even the victory of serenity and peace. We're all broken at some time in our lives.
