Stacy is hosting the WCW challenge this week. It is a fun tutorial and I decided to make a winter card.
Video from Diane Antone Studio: How to Paint a Pine Cone in Watercolor Hope it works this week.
I sketched my pine cone and limbs. I used a small flat brush turned sideways for my needles. I added snow on the cone, ribbon, and tree limbs. When finished painting and drying, I went around the scales with a pencil to define them more.

Your pine cone is lovely and the bow is a sweet addition and ties in with the red plaid that you chose as a back panel, Brenda. I admire you creating the needles with a flat brush...not easy to do! One has to have a VERY light touch to get the pretty result you achieved.

This is a fabulous work of art! The pinecone has so much texture and at first I thought you had added a red velvet bow - but now I am realizing that you painted that, too. You have outdone yourself today. Give yourself a BIG hug from me and a pat on the back!!
