Color Challenge - CC908 - Gray Day at the Bay w/Freesia - August 9, 2022
Basic Gray, Bermuda Bay, Fresh Freesia
I found some Bermuda Bay in my stash and made my own pinkish/purplish cardstock to match Fresh Freesia by inking direct to paper. I swiped the ink pad on white cardstock so that it was fully colored and then waited for it to dry.
I started with a foundation of Bermuda Bay as the full A2 sized background and then cut down the floral frame so that the Bermuda Bay would show as a border all the way around. For the gray color behind the flowers, I used a piece of gray patterned paper with tiny white speckles.
For the dessert option in this week's challenge to include die cuts, I added the word "hugs" die cut out of Bermuda Bay cardstock (plus the floral frame was also die cut). As a final touch, I added coordinating bluish/greenish jewels to five of the flowers and surrounding the sentiment.
This is a lovely color combination that I would not have thought of myself, which I will definitely be using again. Surprisingly, this card has no stamping and no images to color (rare for me, as I love using critters on my cards). I decided to keep this more on the elegant side rather than cutesy or whimsical by adding a critter.
