Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us a unique and lovely colors to work with: Bermuda Bay (my favorite!), Basic Gray and Fresh Freesia. The dessert option this week is to use a die-cut.
I used this week's colors with some added neutrals--Merry Merlot and the equivalent of Mossy Meadow. My daisies are actually three layers. The first layer is the lavender shade, very, very lightly brushed through the stencil. The second layer is the same ink, but heavier. If you squint just right, you can see the difference! The third layer is Merry Merlot, a permitted neutral. Likewise for the leaves, some Mossy green to tone down the Bermuda Bay color of the leaves. The little flower at the bottom was heat embossed for a little shine. I was a little reluctant about the shimmer in the centers of the flowers, but I held my breath and tried it. Distress inks are not permanent. But I lucked out when the centers of the flowers took the shimmer and also changed color intensity for a little inadvertent, but pretty, shading.
You might recall that I've been bombarding a family member with cards to cheer her up while she undergoes some medical treatments. I pulled out an older set for the greeting on this card; I think she'll like it! She is, in fact, the perfect combination of Princess and Warrior.
I'm excited to see what you create with these pretty colors!

Barbara, what a fantastic way to utilize the colors and such a fun, different layout. I struggle sometimes trying to do different layouts. I need to favorite this!
