I'm very happy to have been asked to join the color challenge team as a guest designer for the month of August. It's always so fun to be a part of such a talented team!
This week Barbara had chosen Coastal Cabana, Polished Punk, and Basic Black. I've combined my card with Sabrina TLC challenge and made my faux handmade paper by daubing white and the closest thing I had to Coastal Cabana on black cardstock. The instructions said to also daub metallic but I opted for a simple gold rub around the edges. Barbara's choice of birds for dessert had me looking for a stamp with a bird and flower. I bought this sweet stamp at a clearance sale recently and knew these colors were perfect for it!
Thanks for two fun challenges!

Fabulous inspiration for the challenge colors! The image is adorable and as you said, perfect for the colors. The handmade paper technique looks awesome. I like the card design with the partial circle cut-out. Very nicely done. Welcome to the team!

This is so pretty - that background is spectacular! And the circle looks like a moon or sun with the bird against it. I just love everything about this card. And welcome! It's wonderful having you guest design with us this month!

Jen, it's so great to have you designing with us this month! And what a start! This card is so adorable with the Asian characters and the cute bird and flower. And now I'm off to read about this other challenge. It looks like fun, and I love the result you got!

Absolutely gorgeous. I love the way your image is stamped over onto the background too. Given that Lynn's description said lighter cardstock worked better, you were brave to try black. And it looks super.

OMG, your card is outstanding! Love, love, love the faux paper that you created in the challenge color. What a lucky clearance stamp find -- the image is super cute and colored to perfection.
