Color Challenge - CC242 - Krafty Black Melons - October 26, 2009
This was a lovely gallery and albums to scroll through, and I selected this card as my inspiration piece:
Similarities:
I kept the color combination of kraft, black, and pink on my card (from Color Challenge CC242 - Kraft, Basic Black, Melon Mambo - as used in the original card).
I kept a grouping of pink flowers on my card.
Differences:
I used a different stamp set for the flowers and my grouping is more vertical, rather than horizontal.
I used leaves on my card
I used my own layout and did not follow the sketch used in the original card (from Sketch Challenge SC252).
I used a sentiment on the front of my card.
I used different patterned paper, black with white polka dots.
I did not use ribbon on my card.
I needed another pet sympathy card for my dad and stepmother, who lost another one of their Yorkshire Terriers this past week (they lost one Yorkie in March as well - that one became suddenly ill, this one was 16 years old with many ongoing medical issues).
For my card, I included a bouquet of leaves as a backdrop for the flowers, added a black paw print in the center of the three larger flowers, and added a sympathy word die.

Sorry to hear about your Dad and Stepmothers' loss. So hard.
This is precious and sweet. I totally love those flowers and who can resist black and white dots.
I also an thrilled you picked her first card - that is always fun!
Well done!

This is a lovely case of Cheryl's card. Your floral bouquet looks beautiful against the polka dot paper. I'm so sorry for the need for you to have to make a sympathy card. I'm sure you mom and dad will appreciate it.

Fantastic design and perfect tribute to the featured stamper!
Thank you so kindly for your comments on my card for Lillee, and especially so about the sequins (you have NO IDEA how much I sweat where to put those, and, inevitably, always think they look silly where I have them end up! Lol! Bless you!)

Beautiful way to show your love and support to your Dad and Stepmom. Love the bouquet you created and especially stamping the paw print for the center of the flowers -- genius. Sorry your parents have experienced these losses, especially so close together. I am sure they will love and appreciate this wonderful card.
