I have a combo card today for the IC, for Wednesday's WCW and for Thursday's WT. I found the faux suede to not be very easy. I distressed the heck out of the crumb cake and had a devil of a time splitting the layers. I didn't get two usable pieces out of it, not sure what I was doing wrong. But I did get enough to use underneath the SU trellis piece. I did some sponging with some Distress inks on the faux suede and the trellis to match the colors on the watercolor piece.
I love this butterfly wing stamp, haven't used it a lot but am always happy to come across it while thinking about a project. I stamped it in a gray ink, heat embossed with clear and painted it with watercolors, using the WCW challenge ideas. I kept it very light for the most part. Edged it with some of the Distress inks I sponged. Added some glass and stone things I had in my stash, thought that worked nicely with today's IC. I actually have some Brighton jewelry, I think my ex husband bought it for me. Don't wear it a lot, it's pretty fancy. I used to work at a women's store in town which sold it. I might have a Brighton bag too, can't remember. I have too many purses. Here is my inspiration: https://www.brighton.com/product/sma...-mini-box.html
I was also influenced by this bag to add the trellis: https://www.brighton.com/product/cro...-body-bag.html
Thanks for the challenges, Amy, Toni and Linda.

This is so very pretty Jean, love the butterfly wing that you watercoloured along with the jewels and the backdrop of the trellis adds even more interest.

I have this stamp and always thought of it as an abstract BG....until today. I love all the subtle complexities, throughout your lovely creation with so much to look at and enjoy.
