This is for the Color Challenge hosted by Karen. Her colors are Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz. This month the dessert option is Christmas in July.
I stamped the floral sprays. Then, I used our hostess, Karen's tutorial on Marker Layering found in the tutorial section. See it here:
I did have to modify to using only two colors instead of three due to the little areas. It was fun to try even though it was small. With markers, I colored only at the flower bases with Poppy Parade, blended up with a blender pen and added a touch of Merry Merlot (neutral) at the base. For the leaves and stems, I colored with Pear Pizzazz, blended and added some Mossy Meadow (neutral). The stems with multiple leaves were colored with Pool Party.
The floral sprays were die-cut and adhered at the top of a strip quilt background. The sentiment was stamped in Pear Pizzazz. I had a small scrap of Pear Pizzazz seam binding and a piece of silver threaded yarn that matched Pool Party. They worked together for an crafty embellishment. Lastly I applied Wink of Stella to the tips of the flowers. Fabulous colors and fun to work with.
I hope you will play along with these Colors and our Christmas in July theme. TFL

Beautifully colored sprays, Diane, even if they were a bit tricky! Your strips of dp's in these colors look really nice. A bright and beautiful Christmas card~

Diane, the color blocking/quilt is such a great idea for the color challenge, and such an effective design element! I love your spray of flowers, so expertly colored!
