For Lydia's (Understandblue) first Dare to Get Dirty Challenge - Texture Plate Batik Technique.
I laid a piece of white card stock (better to use light weight) over a stencil and rubbed over the paper with a white crayon. Then I sponged 3 colors over the paper and it resisted the ink where the wax was from the crayon.
My stencil is called Mock Croc (like crocodile?) but with the colors I used, I felt like I was looking through a shallow rock pool on the ocean shore and so I stamped a starfish in the 'waters'!
I was surprised that this technique worked! and I love how this came out!
