Whilst on holidays I bought a lovely book of kirigami birds (I think it's only available in French and Japanese - Oiseaux de papier). I was hoping I could make this as a birthday card for DH as it was his favourite, but by the time I included the flower it was too big. It was also made in a bit of a rush, because there wasn't much time between our return and his birthday, so I just had to use whatever frame I could rustle up from my stash. As I didn't have time to source suitable papers, I just used 90lb watercolour paper and Twinkling H2Os to colour. So it was a bit harder to contour than lighter paper, but turned out well given all the handicaps!

This is really lovely. I am sure he loved it. Very good for hanging!
You have me so used to you doing things I never heard of-at first I thought that was a paper die cut frame popped up! LOL
This is a great example of "extended" making. I like the overlap on your mat.
