I needed to make a birthday card for my mom. Her birthday is on the 26th. She also encouraged me to experiment in different crafts since I was a child.
I knew I had to use this yellow trim and lace trim that I coffee dyed for a bohemian style card. I also used some pattern paper that I've had forever that reminds me of bohemian style.
I made the background by adhering a book page that had various ink splats on it to a piece of manilla folder. The book page had already had some ink on it as I used it to clean off stamps and soak up ink from my previous projects. I added more ink by stamping a succulent background stamp in Mowed Lawn. Then I used an old SU background stamp called Sanded and stamped it in Ground Espresso. I used a butterfly background die on the book page and a piece of that bohemian style pattern paper. I swapped the butterflies from the pattern paper with the butterflies from the book page. Now I have another background for another project with the remaining pieces.
To finish the card I cut some wildflowers and colored them with sponged ink. Then I added the trim and lace and sari silk. My sentiment is stamped on a piece of coffee dyed paper. I added that mini safety pin. I may try to find a cute charm or something to hang on it before I give it to her.
