But I struggled to make my own version. Watercoloring and ink blending were both fails today. Finally I decided to just take the general flower colors and the loose floral design as my inspiration, and finally break into the Artistically Inked set, which I had to have but which has intimidated me since I got it.
I stamped the flower three times, in Denim, Faded Jeans, and Tumbled Glass, and stamped the middles with Mustard seed and added dots with black ink. I stamped several leaves in Crushed Olive, then used the matching dies to cut out the flowers and leaves.
I finally made myself cut into my first piece of the gorgeous Expressions in Ink paper which, again, I had to have, but have hoarded since it arrived. I used one of the pieces with the ink toward the middle and wide white edges and cut it so all the green and gold was on one side, cut to fit on a white card base. I attached it to the card and glued the darker blue flowers and their leaves along the edge of the green swirls. I glued the smaller leaves to the underside of the light blue flower and attached it to the card front with foam tape. I finished by stamping the sentiment in denim ink.
I ended up pretty far from the inspiration, but thatâs where I started, anyway!
USEIT2022: As I said, finally started using the gorgeous Artistically Inked stamps and dies and Expressions in Ink paper, so yay!
