I noticed the tree image from a beloved, now retired stamp set called Lovely as a Tree. I need some masculine birthday cards, so Faye's tree card became my inspiration.
I kept the birthday theme, tree image, circles and the brown behind it. I stamped the tree in Soft Suede and colored it with chalk. I used several different greens and a couple browns to hopefully give it some depth. I also colored around with light blues and a little green at the base. Then I die-cut the image into a circle and also cut a circle from Garden Green CS. No scallops. I distressed the edges of the image circle and sponge with the suede ink. Instead of a banner, I used a wide strip of embossed textured cardstock in Soft Suede. Stamped a birthday sentiment and added a couple leaves from the stamp set.
Thank you Faye for sharing your wonderful creations with us and for inspiring mine today!

Definitely a well loved set of mine! I love how well it makes a masculine card. Your beautifully coloured tree against that embossed wood grain is perfect!

Beautiful card and so great for a guy. I haven't used chalk to color with in ages, but it looks so lovely here I am thinking of pulling out those old trays. Love the strip of woodgrain grounding that gorgeous tree. Great card.

Diane I was so glad to see the old oak tree from this set in Faye’s gallery AND so glad you cased this! The small leaves are so perfect here.
I bought the set 2x, as my first purchase from SU which I loaned it out and did not get it back - so I bought it again when the unmounted set was released. And well, I did NOT learn my lesson and have lost other sets this way LOL. But not this one again, for sure!

Diane, this is soooo cool with the added texture. I love how you did the sentiment too. I had no idea Lovely as a tree was retired now. Wow - I thought that would never happen. Great card. Hugz
