This weekâs TPT challenge is Vintage which is outside my comfort zone but I decided to give it a try, and chose a romantic, long distance theme.
The AI antique phone was stamped and fussy cut (the stamp is so old it was made before the era of matching dies, lol) and adhered to the antique lace background. The original scalloped frame was an aged purple color but I thought it needed more pizzaz so I embossed it in gold. I added some Nuvo gold dream drops but didnât like the look so I covered most of them with rhinestones. It needed more color, so I added some dsp primitive hearts (probably too many) and finished it with a scallop-edged sentiment to tie the theme together.
Although I enjoy the look when others do it, Vintage is certainly a challenge for me!

So pretty! I think this turned out great....love the colors and the gold framing. Your face images are certainly from another era. I love the old fashioned phone. Sometimes we need to break out of our usual style....well done Linda!

I think you have added just the right number of hearts. I am in awe of your gold embossed panel, it is so rich looking. The phone is perfect for a bygone era. Love the embossing folder behind your great vintage scene. (And thank you for your comments on mine!) They made me feel good!

Oh this truly makes my heart smile! Wonderful elements and memories of waiting hours for that phone to ring . . . .then having privacy only as far as the cord would allow!
P. S. The sentiment was the first thing I noticed - It's from SU More Sayings & Such (199- one of the first sets I bought.

I agree with Polly, your card is imaginative and fun. Awesome idea to emboss that panel that wasn’t the right color. The fun corded phone (with telephone operators listening to the love birds).
