This week the Alphabet Challenge is on the letter B for brads. I used today's sketch challenge to make this graduation card in school colors for the graduate.
I dry embossed the gold foil for the top horizontal panel. I stenciled stars on the white cs for the three horizontal panels, cutting them apart afterwards. I actually got to this point before selecting my sentiment, thankfully, Go, Graduate had the perfect sentiment for this layout!
The fiddly part of this card was making the graduation cap. I cut the grad cap top by cutting a 1" piece of Night of Navy and then cutting that on a 45 degree angle. I used a scrap for the cap part shaping it the way I thought looked good and using a heart punch to get the curves. I made a tassel using the embroidery floss and attached it to the cap with a brad.
It was a fun card to make. Thanks for the challenges and thanks for looking!

What a great graduation card! I love the way you combined the challenges, and the brad holding the tassel is terrific!!

This sketch made an excellent one for a graduation card, and love the way your brad is holding the tassel. This combination was a great one!

Yep, a hand-made tassel is pretty fiddly thing to create. But it is the perfect size for your hand made cap. That brad is exactly right for your design. Great job, tremendous patience.
