Inspired by Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero's challenge to use scraps, I die cut the letters out of a pearlescent scrap of cardstock so old that the back was yellowing. Yes, I still call my 80-year-old father Daddy. The heart was cut from a scrap of parchment vellum, which kept the printer ink wet long enough to emboss with Nuvo duchess blue embossing powder.

Nice! My eyes could not decide if the letters were on top of or below the woodgrain background. Then I saw die cut inlay as a technique and recalled seeing a video on it. I will have to remember that, and the rhinestone nails on the corners and the heart.
At first I panicked that Father*s Day might be tomorrow! Whew. I only started making cards in February, and so far my Valentine, Easter and a few birthday cards have been belated.
Anyway, I’m sure your Daddy will like his card. I grew up in the south where fathers are often called Daddy. Who says Father, anyway?
I'm sure your dad will love this card. Wonderful card. So glad you joined us at Die Cut Divas June Challenge of “Anything Goes”. Arlene, DT for Die Cut Divas.
Fabulous Father's Day Card. I love the texture achieved with the embossing folder and the way you inlaid the letters. Thanks for joining us at Die Cut Divas.
