My inspiration is the fourth photo. I have tulips on my mind because I spent the past week in Holland, MI for Tulip Time. I saw hundreds upon hundreds of tulips.
After using a combo of yellow, orange, red and purple Brushos, I embossed with the folder, sanded a bit, brushed some of the gold metallic across the top. I think I need to tone down the colors so the shapes of the tulips come through. It is still spring, even though we are in the 80's here in SE WI. Too hot, too soon...typical. Cold, rainy spring early on, on to summer! The tulips really took a beating in the heat the past few days and we skipped the Thursday parade. Many kids in the bands got sick, wearing wool band uniforms. And the Holland High School marches in wooden shoes, kept on with about 6 pairs of black wooly socks. And they do some kicks like the Dutch dancers do. Crazy!!!!!

I like how the gold is on the tips of the petals it does make it look like the sun is hitting them just so. (yep, its been a disaster here for blooms so far this year too) I love tulips and oh those poor kids.
