I have been busy lately making Father's Day cards to donate to Send a Smile 4 Kids, for children who are inpatients in children's hospitals to send to their dads. I searched for images of Father's Day cards from kids, since I didn't have many ideas for cards from younger children. I found one on Pinterest that had just 3 popsicles with the greeting, "Stay Cool, Dad" written above them. I thought of the popsicle stamps in "Best Pun Ever," & my card was born!
I cut a piece of smooth bristol paper for my main panel, & placed it in my MISTI. I positioned the larger popsicle stamp in the center, and stamped it with FadeOut ink. I moved the panel to one side, stamped again, & moved it the other way & stamped the 3rd popsicle. I colored each one with a Tombow marker, not bothering to shade.
For the greeting, I placed the panel back into my MISTI, & positioned the "you're" stamp below the red popsicle. I picked that up with the MISTI door, then positioned the rest of the stamps in one line. That just made it much easier to line everything up without having stamps jumping all over creation! I inked the beginning of the greeting with Candied Apple, daubed off a bit of ink around the middle of "the," & stamped it onto my panel. I cleaned the stamps (so as not to contaminate my blue ink pad), and inked up the middle of the line with Mermaid Lagoon. I daubed off a bit of ink at both ends, so it would blend & not have a harsh line, & stamped. I cleaned off the stamps, & finished with Lucky Clover. I absolutely love how this came out!
I added 2 strips of patterned paper from my scrap stash to the top & bottom of my card base. I adhered my image/greeting panel in the middle. Finally, for an added "icy" look, I coated each popsicle with Star Dust Stickles.
