This card was made for Creative Creases Challenge #31 ( https://secretstamper.com/2022/04/an...ve-creases-31/ ). Debbie, the host, challenges us twice a month to make a fun fold card, without any special theme requirement - it's always "anything goes".

I have wanted to try my hand at this fun fold card for quite a while, but couldn't find a tutorial. I've seen the fun fold called various names, one of which is the "Extended Z-Fold", but it's not like the folds by that name I've found on the web, so I figured the fold measurements out for myself.

Start with a piece of 5-1/2" x 11" card base. Score it at 4", 8" and 9-1/2". I chose Stampin' Up! (SU) Basic Gray for the base.

You will need five panels of pattern paper:
Front: 3-1/2"x 5"
Inside: 3-3/4" x 5-1/4"
Tall Inside Panel: 1-1/4"x 5-1/4"
Sides of "Box": 1-1/4"x 1-3/4" (two)

For the front, I also cut a mat sized 3-3/4"x 5-1/4"

After I had glued on my pattern paper, I felt that the inside needed more, so I cut a strip to match my card base that was 6-1/2" long by 2" tall. Score this piece at 1-1/2", 3", 4-1/2, and 6". This will leave a narrow 1/2 "tab" to glue the box-shape together. I also cut two strips of the same cardstock 2-1/2" and scored them at 1/2" and 2". This forms tabs that you can fold back and use glue or strong tape to tape them inside the box to attach flowers. I used strong tape on two adjacent sides of the box to attach it to the inside back and right side of the z-fold.

The "flowers" inside the box were die cut from dark brown cardstock using Sizzix "Wildflowers" silhouette dies. I also used the same dies to cut just the tips of the flowers and glued them on top of the brown silhouettes to match the flowers on the pattern paper.

The front of the card was embellished by hot foiling the anniversary sentiment onto dark brown cardstock. I felt the pattern paper overwhelmed the small sentiment, so I used a SU banner die to cut a gold border and brown center to glue the smaller piece atop. I added foiled foliage behind the sentiment for extra "fanciness"

On the inside of the card I added a white panel to write a private message, and added a leftover foiled foliage piece at the bottom to continue the foliage theme.

I am rating the difficulty level for this card as a "4" out of a possible "5" because I had to figure out all the measurements and techniques myself. Now that I've provided them to you, I think without foiling, the difficulty would be a "3". It's a truly lovely card, and I can't wait to send it to our daughter and her husband for their anniversary!
