Iâm so pleased with how this card turned out, tho it took ages to finally come together. It started because I had die cut a bunch of stars from turquoise card stock for my previous card, so had lots of odd shaped scraps left. I grabbed the Stampin Up punch and punched as many as I could from the scraps.
Once I had them all I decided to use a leftover scrap of light green as a backing and make a sort of quilted piece. I glued the labels down, alternating horizontal and vertical to give the piece a little wonkier, less perfect look. I then ran the piece through a dry embossing folder to make it look quilted.
Then I was stuck for a while, trying the piece against a lot of different backgrounds to turn it into a card, and nothing was clicking. Finally I decided on a kraft card base and a layer of hot pink under the blue and green. The hot pink because the key that pulled the rest together, because I was able to use some funky Dollar Tree ribbon as trim across the bottom of the card, and add the flamingo sticker and hello die cut to complete it.
USEIT2022: using up scraps, using a punch I got a while back but hadnât made any cards with yet. The ribbon had been in my stash for a couple of years, and the die cut and flamingo sticker were both brand new, having hit a well stocked Walmart and Dollar Tree in NC on my return trip from NJ!
