Hello! It's my turn to choose a watercolor challenge for Watercolor Wednesday. I found a gorgeous tutorial only to realize that I am a bit challenged in the main parts of this tutorial! First off I avoid aligning blocks because it takes me forever and then it turns out that it still isn't straight. I found graph paper helped me with alignment. I used the graph to help me mask the paper in three blocks and added markings as an easy chart. It was so easy to mask off two more practice sheets! I have tucked my graph, guide away for the next time I play with blocks!
Next, doodles? I have doodled all my life but they are not doodles anyone wishes to see. I practiced many times because I think the roses in the tutorial are adorable! I never could get it to flow for me so I went with silhouettes.
This was painted on my less expensive paper and you can see how the salt didn't activate as much as my other piece.

Ooh I like the drama between the colors, I was not really all that worried about lining it all up because, I figured if some leaked under the tape ( which I thought it would have done more than it did) it would wiggle all the lines anyways. I was more worried about ending up with brown mud blocks hee hee... this is really pretty too Angie

LOL, we are so self critical- this looks fabulous to me! And, I would be the same way as you tried on different papers too. Love your stamp in the stark black. Very cool technique and resulting cards!

Your blocks are light and bright and the die cuts are a great alternative to doodled flora. The word doodle has always sent me into an uncontrolled panic which is dumb because I "sketch" images every week for these challenges with no problem . . . . Thank you for a fun challenge today and I i hope to try it again this week!

Such beautiful panels Angie - love the effect of the salt (I forgot to do that - oops!) I also was afraid to ruin my panels by trying to doodle over them - and used a die cut. A fun video for the challenge today!
