I have so enjoyed all the floating strip cards being posted lately and this week's Featured Stamper, Wendy (aka Mingo) has quite a few wonderful examples in her Gallery. I used this beautiful card as my inspiration: Monochromatic Harvest Thank You by Mingo at Splitcoaststampers
I love that her strips had a pattern on them so I kept the floating strips and stamped a pattern onto mine, but changed everything else.
I wanted a festive tropical bg for this wacky flamingo, so I cut my strips at an angle, mounted them into my Misti and stamped the leaves. Followed the floating strips tutorial and mounted them on acetate and then popped up the panel with foam tape. Here's the link to the tutorial: Floating Strips Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
For the sentiment, I masked the stamp so I could stamp part of it on each side of where the foot would land. I used Sabrina's (aka Cook22) nifty suggestion to stamp first onto a piece of acetate to help position the stamp. Helped soooooooo much.
I did die cut the main body three times so Gladys would stand out a bit from her snazzy bg and I die cut that one foot dangling off the paneling two more times and glued to the back to give it a bit of stability.
Congrats again Wendy. I so enjoyed your Gallery and have several cards pinned for future CASE. I hope you are enjoying your week in the spotlight. And I hope everyone is having their version of a fun, festive and wacky day. TFL

Debbie, you have captured my heart with your Big Pink Bird. She is absolutely fabulous, and looks so good against her pink/purple background. Thank you for sharing!
Debbie, this is so adorable. I love your clever use of the square layer cut in uneven strips with the tropical leaves. Your large flamingo is so fun and perfectly matches the background layers.

You are awesome as well as this beauty you created! I too looked at the tutorial and your card came out spectacularly. The stamping, the colors, and the die-cut flamingo are colored to match perfectly!
