I finally got this cool set and got to use it! Iâve had my eye on it for ages. I decided that I would go tropical for the WTUI crayon challenge, and attempted the crayon embossing background technique with a tropical leaves folder. However after brayering with old Olive ink and buffing, the design didnât show up well. But I decided it would still work well enough for a background.
I die cut one of the background patterns from the die set twice into the background and mounted on a kraft card. Then I stamped two of the leaves in the old Olive ink on vanilla cardstock and die cut and attached to the card. I stamped the sentiment on some Olive green paper and layered onto the vanilla cardstock and attached with foam tape.
To finish off I used my hot pink ink pad to color a wooden flower embellishment and added a pink gem to the center, then glued to the card. The top looked a little bare so I added a butterfly sticker as well.
USEIT2022: First use for the Artfully Layered set, the wood flowers, and the butterfly stickers. First time my brayer has seen ink in quite a few years!

The background might not have worked as you planned, but I think it adds nice texture to this card. I really like how the wooden flower took the ink -- the color looks really rich.
