Sadly, I needed a sympathy card and this was a perfect challenge for it. A very serene and pretty scene for me to send to the family of my Elections coworker who just died very unexpectedly of an aneurysm. A friend just gave me some metallic watercolors and I wanted to give them a try. There is a very pretty shimmer to this scene, but the colors are so soft, that I had to supplement with Spectrum Aqua markers for the green in the foreground. I am terrible at drawing trees, so I used a TCP stamp instead. The shimmery scene was so lovely that I wanted to use shimmery paper for the card base. I grabbed a silvery shimmery paper and sponged it with Tumbled Glass. I like the look.

The lone tree with the empty swing is a poignant symbol for a life gone too soon. I'm always sad that the camera can't pick up the true beauty of the shimmer left by mediums such as your metallic paints and my Twinkling H2O's (Which I NEVER think to use for watercolor Wednesday . . .duh . . .)

Oh, if I had that tree stamp, I would use it in my scenes too! This is so gorgeous! I know this will bring comfort to the recipients and they will treasure your thoughtful art.
