This is part 1 of yesterday's WCW...how to avoid MUD! I don't know if I'm guilty of making mud but I know I do too much too quickly. I think I need a little prompt card with all the tips and suggestions. I'm still a little unsure when it's ok to add more paint to a fairly dry surface. And did she wet the surface again after the first layer dried, to do more wet on wet? I've watched three times but truthfully, I get a bit lost. I am working on a little larger painting with the tree.
So this is my simple little painting, like her little thumbnails. Not much going on but I think I did alright with not over-working. I used some sparkly tissue paper with Brushos on, splattered with gold acrylic paint, for the sketch and today's WT. Always happy to use a metallic.

To my eye, this card is stunning! Your simple water color painting is lovely and certainly doesn't look overworked to me. The gold flecked painted strips behind are all just gorgeous; into my faves for inspiration!

Beautiful and another great way to illustrate that sketch! I get what you mean about all the tips etc they give you when the video is going and then trying to incorporate them all while doing a quick painting...it can be a bit much.

Wow, how creatively you combined all these fabulous challenges, Jean. I hope I can do all of them, or maybe I can come up with a clever way to combine a few I need to catch up on!!

I looked at this on my phone, and waited till I was on the PC to comment. Your watercolour panel is beautiful - I think I would use it for an underwater background but it stands as a feature in its own right), but it's your tissue background strips that really wowed me. I still have a small amount of Verve's sparkle tissue left, but it only had silver in it. The coloured sparkle in yours combined with the rich Brusho colours makes for a thing of beauty.

Love your abstract landscape. No mud here to my eyes (and I'm guilty of most of the sins the artist listed when it comes to creating mud and overworking a painting.)
