Inspired by these socks from Annies Cloth and partially by my box of Franzia wine - and while I typically drink whites, I thought red would have more impact for this painting. So I sketched the idea in my head and then watercolored starting with a blue gray wash in the background. Mixed several reds, pink, purple and black to get the color for my wine then added some white highlights, which really brought the motion to life. Apple & garden green mixed with brown for the bottle . . . .
Stamped the wine labels in the bg and edged my painting with a gold paint pen.
This is going out to an SCSer, who for some unknown reason, has been heavy on my mind this week. I decided to follow my instincts and reach out to her.

You can certainly sketch perfectly and the mixing of colors seem to be another perfect thing you did.

Franzia Blush is my wine of choice, although that RED wine looks so delish!! Great coloring of the glass and the bottle and perfect stamping of the bg.
