I've never heard the term map pencils before! I used mostly Inktense, with a little Polychromos added in because I find Inktense a bit poor on browns, and I also used a graphite pencil to add shading. Glossy Accents on the beak and claws, some SN clear glitter pen highlights on the berries - which stopped me adding Spring as a sentiment. It's obviously autumn.
Embossed and sanded the base, then buffed some Inka gold in. The bird's wing is contoured slightly from behind with a large ball stylus.
