Curvy Happiest of Birthdays

This card was made for a challenge whose theme was "Clean And Simple" (CAS), but allowed you to use more than one color besides white.

I chose to use the Stampin' Up! (SU) Stitched Greenery Die which allows you to emboss a beautiful leafy stitched pattern. To make the pattern even more pronounced, I ran the SU Old Olive cardstock through my Big Shot a second time, but with the rubber impression pad underneath the cardstock.

I glued this green panel to the front of my white card base, then cut a 4"x2" piece of the same white cardstock and die cut it with the SU "Quite Curvy" die that has the dotted border. I then die cut a second border from a 4"x1" piece of retired SU Rose Red cardstock using the same curved die, and glued it behind the white diecut piece.

The next step was to create the sentiment on the white curved panel. I used the SU stamp set that matches the die called "Quite Curvy" and first inked the stamp with clear Versamark in, then inked the stamp with SU Melon Mambo ink. To match the curve of the die cut, I used my SU Stamparatus stamp positioner to do the actual stamping since it allowed me to stamp more than once for a nice dark sentiment. I then dusted the sentiment with clear embossing powder, and heat set to make it shiny and darker.

This die cut panel was then attached to the green panel using foam tape to raise it up off the green panel. This may not be quite kosher for a CAS card, but with the green background, the design just seemed to beg for some dimension.

I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". With the dies and Stamparatus, it is a pretty easy card to create!
