This week we are sharing a little Tea and Sympathy with Joyce who just lost her husband of 50 years. Her favorite colors are pink and lime green and she loves quilting and gardening. I was a bit late getting started, so I happened to see the post from her niece Jean (aka jkanack) saying it would be great if we could include an elephant. So, I managed to get a bit of each.
Initially I stamped my card base with my favorite leaf background stamp from Penny Black. I die cut the heart; dry embossed it with the quilted die and then added nuvo drops to each square. Colored and fussy cut the floral stamp and die cut the love sentiment. Then laid everything out to position the elephants, Initially I was going to use a larger elephant stamp and tuck it into the flowers but then I remembered this border stamp which I have always loved. Unfortunately, the elephants were headed to the wrong watering hole so I had to turn them around. I have never been very good at mirror stamping, but Lisa (aka Shoe Girl) sent me a link to her tutorial and it's fabulous. I'm still not great but I am infinity better than I was. I know because when I asked my in-house quality control team (aka hubby) what I stamped, he immediately said "elephants". If you want to know Lisa's great tips on how to mirror stamp, check it out at: https://shoegirlscards.blogspot.com/p/techniques.html
Losing anyone is difficult, but I think losing a long-time mate is even more so. Such a big part of your life is missing and it leaves such a big hole. I hope we are able to fill that hole just a bit with lots of Teapot love and paper hugs -- even if it's just for a brief spell. And I hope your day is filled to the brim -- no holes. TFL

Beautiful! Love the EF quilted heart with the beautifully colored/shaded flowers. BG is perfect and the fact you included elephants is precious, especially when she needs a bit of love from friends...

What a treasure your card is, Debbie .... beautifully designed and the addition of the elephants in remembrance of her husband's love for the zoo animals will surely touch Joyce's heart!

Your elephant stamp is super. I'm glad you were late starting and able to include it. And the quilted heart - gorgeous, and such a lovely crisp, fresh backing for the beautiful flowers.

What a lovely card! And great job on the mirror stamping! I really like the embossed heart with "love" on it...it symbolizes what a tremendous loss this is for Joyce.
