This card was made for a sketch challenge that also had the optional part to use "shades of green".
So I went to my Stampin' Up! (SU) Designer Series Paper (DSP) stash and found the greenest I had... the "Forever Greenery" pack full of lots of leafy designs. I chose the design that had the most shades of green and cut a focal panel 2-3/4"x 3-1/4". I then cut a mat for it 1/4" larger in each dimension from SU Just Jade cardstock.
The card base is heavy white cardstock, and the front panel is a piece of the same cardstock cut 4"x 5-1/4", then spritzed lightly with water before running it through my Big Shot inside an SU embossing folder called "Painted Texture". It gives so much texture and dimension to the background! This was attached to the card base using foam tape for added dimension.
I then cut a 7/8"x 4-1/4" wide rectangle of an unknown brand of dark green cardstock that matched the green in the focal paper. I used paper snips to cut a banner tail and glued the banner directly to the embossed white panel. I needed a horizontal element that I thought would make a good place to stamp the birthday sentiment. This piece is 1" wide and 4" long. The sentiment, which is from the SU "Beautiful Bouquet" stamp set, was stamped with black ink.
After gluing the sentiment strip directly to the card front, I used foam tape to mount the leafy focal piece onto the card.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of possible "5". Super straightforward, but with lots of visual and textural appeal!
