First, I have to say that Berneice reminds me SO MUCH of my own dear mother who maintained her own home until this age of 94 (then 3 more years in assisted living), so I feel truly honored to create a card filled with sunshine and serenity for her!
One of the things I have been learning in my "old age" is how to watercolor - so that is the technique I used on this card for Bernice. I know I am usually too critical of my own work and often paintings "grow on me" after some time has passed. This tropical sunset is one that I salvaged after several weeks of laying on my table. I stamped the island with the palm trees and the duck swimming near the grassy shore plus a sentiment. Edged in black and mounted onto my white card base.

This is gorgeous Linda! My mom is going to love your beautiful watercolored scene! It will remind her of me because I'll be in Maui in a week or so! Sorry you're having a tough week and hoping your weekend will be much better! Sending you warm hugs!

Nothing nicer than a tropical sunset to cheer you up. A little holiday on the beach would be just perfect now. Just the sound of the waves for company. Bliss.

ahhhh - gorgeous. So perfect at this time of the year (we had 14 inches of snow in January on one day, and today we're to get 8 inches on top of 1 inch of ice.. Western PA...) I love how you colored the background and your stamped images are crystal clear. I have to work more on getting my stamping mojo back !

The colours in your sky remind me of some of the sunsets we have seen in Greece. It's beautiful, Linda. I'm glad it grew on you enough to work into a finished card. The duck is a super detail that put a big smile on my face.

I'm only surprised that it took so long for this lovely painting to grow on you because it grew on me immediately. Maybe having those gorgeous silhouette stamps made the difference. No matter why, you definitely created a card of sunshine and serenity. Makes me want to go to Maui with Gracie. LOL. Fabulous card.
