I havenât done many slimline cards and didnât have a whole lot of time to fuss with the challenge today so I almost skipped it but instead decided to limit my options and see what happened. I chose my scrap pile on my desk from recent card making, a set of older SU Valentines stamps I got from Ebay recently, and some wooden Valentine heart stickers from my most recent Dollar Tree visit.
I made a card from white cardstock and started looking through the scraps. The hot pink and turquoise papers were together and I loved the look so decided to build the card around that. I cut the two rectangular layers and used tape runner to put on the card so I was committed!
Then I found a few coordinating scraps and cut three medium sized squares and a smaller square using dies. I attached the two light pink squares with tape runner and popped up the aqua one with foam tape, then used tape runner to attach the hot pink square in the center. The two pink stickers were already colors so I stuck them on. The stickers include several plain wood ones so I grabbed a smaller one and smushed it on my Bermuda Bay pad a few times to color it, then stuck it to the center square.
It was still needing a bit more, so I (very carefully) stamped the postmark and sentiment onto the pink wooden heart stickers.
This is where I may have messed upâ I decided to stamp the little heart line from the same stamp set at the top and bottom of the card, but smeared the bottom a little. So I added some sequins to mostly hide the smudging and then decided they looked silly by themselves, so scattered a few more over the heart stickers. I really loved the card up to that point but Iâm feeling like the sequins might be a bit too muchâ¦what do you think?
Either way, Iâm pretty excited to finish and post a challenge card on the same day of its posting TWO DAYS in a row! I think the streak ends here tho, because I wonât be back with my stamp stuff tomorrow. But we shall see!
USEIT2022: scraps!! And I feel like giving myself extra points for using scraps that hadnât even gotten into my scrap boxes yet, but weâre still piled on the desk. Also those Dollar Tree sequins have been around for a long time, several years at leastâ¦and I still have tons!

Very neat hearts, and stamps you used.
